I was just about to pass my third year as a resident in Australia when I sent my manuscript to the Griffith Review. It was an essay, my manifesto, about experiences and lessons learned during those three years as an educator, parent of school-age boys, and community member in vibrant city of Sydney. My manuscript had a working title “Fixing Australian Education” and it suggest that we need a whole new way of thinking about education and what it is for if we want all Australian children to have world class education that they truly deserve.
The Griffith Review is “the leading literary journal in Australia with an uncanny ability to anticipate emerging trends.” My essay that is titled “By Design: New foundations for teaching and learning” appears in issue #75 of this agenda-setting, quarterly publication that delivers insight into the issues that matter most in a timely, authoritative and engaging fashion.
